U15 players and under, can play up a maximum of 2 birth years.
Example: 2010 (u10) can play with 2008 at (u12) or a 2007 (u13) can play with 2005 (u15)
Players at u15 and below, can not play up 3 years for any district/league games. Tournaments are allowed but not recommended.
There is confusion in the soccer world about how the new birth year rule works. Your child’s actual Day of birth has no validation . It is strictly the Year of birth that matters.
We have seen this problem too often since the new age rule took place in 2016.
Example: player born November 7,2003 is playing a fall league in 2019. This player/parents want their child to play at the u16 level. They understand the rule as, until his birthday on November 7th, he is still a u16 player because he is only 15.
This is a violation of the rule. The player is a 2003. Regardless of day of birth, the year of birth information is what united states soccer federation goes by.
